Living with the Lisics: Happy Valentine's Day!! (A little late...)

Valentine's Day may seem cheesy to some people. I have heard it called unnecessary and pointless and even stupid. I guess on some level I can understand where they are coming from because in all honesty this is a holiday that is extremely commercialized. But I have to say that I love Valentine's Day. I love having a day when I can show the one I love just how much he means to me. Of course I am going to show love to Wes all year around, but it is so fun to have this special day of the year to celebrate our love for each other and do something fun and just treat ourselves to a special night out. Tuesday was our very first Valentine's Day married! And as we have in the past, we had to celebrate a day early this year. (Wes has a class on Tuesday nights unfortunately...) For our date night we went to Longhorn and had a delicious dinner then went home and curled up to watch some TV together. I didn't want to do anything extravagant. I just wanted to be with my husband and spend time together. I have to say...extravagant may not be what I had planned but my gift was definitely extravagant! A white iPhone 4S!! Wow. I still can't even believe it. I have wanted one basically for forever and although I don't like to admit it, I have begged for one! I was so excited when he told me. It came in yesterday and I have been loving playing with it and trying out all the things it can do. I am still in shock I have one but so excited!

I ordered Wes a more...sentimental gift. (Usually Valentines is not a holiday for huge gifts for us!) I found a coupon on one of my favorite blogs How Does She when she did this post. $30 off ANYTHING from Paper Coterie. Seriously this is such a cute shop. I love these personalized items...I have ordered several after checking them out. I ordered a Memory Box for Wes. It is a personalized box that is used to store all sorts of the papers and things that you want to remember without having a bunch of random clutter that eventually gets lost or accidentally thrown out such as concert tickets, trip brochures, letters, and all sorts of treasures. It turned out so cute and I love it. He loves it too. What a special thing for us to have especially now as we have just so recently started off our journey together. I did expect it to be much smaller than it is...not that it is a bad thing! Now it will hold more memories! Here is a picture of it next to my new iPhone to show a size comparison...
